Job Purpose:
This position works within the Compliance team to ensure the firm’s clients that have received economic development incentives realize the maximum potential benefit of those incentives. This position works to ensure that all of the obligations a client has entered into with state/local entities are fulfilled in reporting accurately. This position also works with the Project team leaders assisting in the initial stages of the project by conducting project specific research, preparing/processing incentive applications and reviewing incentive agreements between the client and local/state governmental entities.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Research specific details regarding economic development incentive programs available in various states as well as the required compliance related information within those states.
  • Work with the Ginovus Project team leaders to forecast available incentives by drafting an incentive flow analysis and/or comparative analysis. Revise the incentive flow analysis if necessary after execution of incentive agreements and prior to client billing.
  • Work with the Ginovus Project team leaders to complete incentive applications.
  • Work with the Ginovus team in the transition of client projects from application and approval stage to the compliance phase of the process.
  • Work with the Ginovus Project team leaders in preparation of presentation materials for the transition meeting to the Compliance team. Attend the transition meetings, when necessary.
  • Documenting compliance procedures and filing the necessary forms within the shared drive and/or database.
  • Assist the Compliance team in the preparation and distribution of Annual Compliance information to clients in a timely manner with the necessary and accurate supporting documents.
  • Assist clients in the preparation and filing of Annual Compliance information in a timely manner with the necessary and accurate supporting documents.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the client’s key personnel as it relates to the incentives process. Maintain continued communication with assigned clients leading up to compliance due dates to ensure all time-sensitive deadlines are met.
  • Maintain organized records on each client assigned during the compliance process. Position will be responsible for multiple clients in different stages of compliance.
  • Review documents on the clients’ behalf before submitting to the local/state agency. Provide client feedback as appropriate.
  • Request and assist in completion of documents from clients such as forms filed by the client to the local/state agency or documents that have been received by the client from the local/state agency.
  • Propose and direct process techniques to streamline the compliance process.
  • Review award letters and tax bills received from the local/state agency for accuracy on the clients’ behalf.
  • Manage the calendar flow of events related to incentive performance management for the firm’s clients.
  • Maintain excellent communication and set appropriate expectations when managing the project flow from the Director of Operations and Compliance Management, Director of Project Management and Development, Director of Corporate Development and Managing Director.
  • Participate actively in weekly, bi-weekly and annual team meetings and provide input as appropriate.
  • Represent Ginovus professionally in terms of customer service and attentiveness to client’s needs.
  • Maintain organized filing of client documents within the paper files, shared drive and database system.
  • Assist in developing tools and processes for improving comparison and analysis of national incentive and site selection criteria and metrics.
  • Keep up to date on industry topics through various forms of media and communications.
  • Other duties as necessary and determined by the Director of Operations and Compliance Management and Director of Project Management and Development.
